I realised only just now with everything that happened last December, I never actually posted the Year in Review post. I was going to start the one for this year, but I thought I would actually post this one first. Unfortunately, a backdated post will still show up in your reading pages.

Did you write more or less than you thought you would this year?

I think I have to say that I wrote more than I thought I would this year. Definitely more than I have in the past few years, especially more than I usually have written for Rayearth in the past, I think.

Where did you publish/archive your stories?

I've been posting to both AO3 and to FFN. I've only published things rated teen or under on FFN, and anything that is adult has only been posted on AO3 or has been edited down to a teen rating for FFN.

What did you write that you didn't predict in January?

I restarted Sanctuary. I honestly now don't know why I decided I wanted to pick it back up, beside the fact that I really like the basic story line and I wanted to play with it again.

What's your favourite story this year?

I am still totally in love with Sanctuary, but Graphoanalysis was fun to write. I also have a few unfinished projects that make me smile every time I read the drafts.

Your most popular story?

If going by comments, reviews, and kudos, that is probably Sanctuary. It at least gets the most hits of all of them, but that could just be because it has multiple chapters now. But I like to think that other people are enjoying that silliness.

Story most under appreciated by the universe?

I'm not sure how to rank these for under appreciated. I mean, I have a few without comments that have at least gotten some kudos on AO3. One of those got a comment on FFN. I mean, I do want to know what people actually thought of Not Quite According to Plan and some of the other stories that haven't gotten many or any comments.

I get a little sad that Rayearth stories are getting less and less comments these days. I am trying to be good and comment on things I read. Sometimes that is difficult because I can't always find the words. There have only been maybe two or three stories I've read lately that I didn't comment on because they upset me too much and I couldn't think of anything nice to say.

Story that could have been better?

Damn. A few of them, probably? Good Advice could have been fiddled with a bit more. I didn't lay it out in the story line quite right, since I wrote it in a rush for Fan flashworks.

Sexiest story?

A Pleasant Distraction probably. Unless I get chapter seven of Sanctuary up before the end of the year.

Most fun story?

Serious Training is silly nonsensical fluff. I did have fun with that idea.

Story with the sweetest moment?

I haven't gotten to some of the sweeter moments in Sanctuary, so I guess I could say that Graphoanalysis is the sweetest. Though I really like Good Advice as an illustration of how Umi and Clef were friends first.

The story that made you cry?

Begins and Ends with Three Words. Hands down. I mean, I didn't actually write it this year, but I edited it and posted it this year. I was going through my various short fics on tumblr and it made me cry, so I thought it needed sharing again to make everyone else cry too.

Hardest story to write?

Bits of Sanctuary just give me a headache. I can see the scenes in my head, but I would spend hours struggling to get even a single sentence down. It can be so frustrating, but I suppose it is worth it. I am writing something that I dearly wish to read, and I enjoy rereading what I have posted, because it is the nonsense fluff I want.

Easiest story to write?

I wrote Graphoanalysis in one day, mostly while on the bus to and from the city. It just came to me and I wrote it.

Most overdue story?

In the Rayearth fandom, the thing sitting unfinished the longest is Try to Wish, but I am still debating on what I want to do with that, as I have an idea for reusing the plot again, but I think it will be too stark a difference to repost over the existing story. I may see if I can work out where I was going with it and try to get an ending written, also tidy up some of it, and possibly adjust a few dubious things in, but who knows. I've got a lot of Sanctuary to be writing.

Did you take any writing risks this year?

I picked back up an old story and completely rewrote chapters of it. I haven't heard anything bad about what I have done, but I don't know if any of the old followers of the story are annoyed at the slight changes I've made.

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?

Get a bigger chunk of Sanctuary finished. At least getting into the second major plot thread. As it is obviously not going to just be about Umi and Clef getting together, since it is as chapter 6 out of possibly 36 and they have already done things.

Maybe get some more of my drafts finished.
