Given the response to my last complaint, I figured LJ could use a community like this one.

I'm nearly to that point myself...

I am taking a good hard look at my finances.

I would have been joining, because as I said to you recently I really can't afford to go...but...it seems I might be going after all.

I wont say too much yet, as I don't want to jinx things, but a friend has said they may have a spare ticket for me.

Nah... actually, I am perfectly capable of going, if I decide I don't want to worry about getting out of debt. I have enough in my bank account to pay for plane, lodging, and tickets... but I would rather pay off my car loan, and work on paying my student loans down.

Not to mention having enough incase I have to take another week or so off work again.

It's still only a maybe for me, but someone I only know online thinks she might have a spare ticket and has suggested I could use it, and even share her hotel room. I am yet again rather in awe at the amazing generosity of my online friends.

May I have your online friends? Not that I haven't had kind offers from mine, but that is brilliant. I would say go for it.
