Where are people getting this suicide idea from? I mean, yeah, Nine has his suicidal moments, but he's not going to haul off and kill himself because he thinks he may have gotten Rose pregnant. It's not even definite that he did, so why would he kill himself? Or even do himself harm for that matter?

Would someone kindly explain this to me, because I am confused. *headdesk*

I think he explains the herbs to Rose soon. Maybe. But I think Jack my figure it out sooner, because I think he recognizes the smell. I'm not sure though.

Random preview of Part 6

The opening music of Strictly Come Dancing blared from the television. Jack pounced on the remote control and turned the volume down.

“Oh, that actor you like’s going to be on this year,” Jackie said as she walked out of the kitchen with a plate of food and a glass of water for Rose. “You know, the one with the hair. He’s in the movie with what’s-her-name.”

“Really, Mum?” Rose laughed. “That one?”

“Oh, shush, you,” Jackie scolded. “You know who I mean.”

“Hair?” Jack asked with an ornery grin. “I thought you were more interested in ears.”

Rose grabbed the decorative pillow and tossed it at his head, but he caught it and just kept going on, asking her about noses, blue eyes, jumpers, and small blue boxes. If she’d had more pillows she’d have pummeled him with them, and if they’d been on the TARDIS she might have thrown her food at him.

The more she reacted, the more Jack prodded. Laughing as she launched herself at him.

Suicide over possible preg??? Not quite gloomy depressive sort maybe but come on this man watched his whole planet die at his hand. Not thinking that preg would do him. As to preview, adorable can so see those two doing just that, Jack so has the bratty older brother streak, loving to tease in a kind hearted way.

I assumed it's something to make sure that their current predicament doesn't reoccur, since he said that he wished he had gotten it before they visited the planet. Birth control, maybe? Can't wait to find out!

My concern was that the herbs were an abortifacient, given Rose's dream. That reminded me of an old hospital drama where a woman had a dream like that, and she needed an operation that would be safer for her if she wasn't pregnant. Her husband wanted her to abort, and the times were such that the doctor wouldn't do the surgery without her husband's consent. I don't remember the name of the program, and I didn't see all of it.

Oh Jack...

To me, it was the fact that he wouldn't let Rose have so much as a taste of it while it was hot because of the fact of her possibly being pregnant and the part that it was only dangerous when hot. I figured it was some kind of spermicide/contraceptive, but I've been around fanfiction long enough to where you never precisely know where and author is going to take a particular story, so there was that niggling doubt. Glad of the reassurance against suicide and will happily wait for the full story of the tea.
